Emergency Services
Emergency services are provided by the hospital round the clock on all days (24×7). The services are led by casualty medical officer along with the support of duty physician, duty surgeon and a full-fledged team of paramedical staff.
In Patient Services
The GMC & ESIC Hospital is a 300 bedded tertiary set-up. It consists of medical, surgical, obstetrics & gynaecology, paediatrics, pulmonology, dermatology, psychiatry, orthopaedics, ophthalmology and ENT wards. The hospital also runs a fully operational Intensive Medical Care Unit (IMCU), Intensive Coronary Care Unit (ICCU), Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with a dedicated team of doctors, nurses and paramedical staffs serving around the clock to offer high-quality health care.
Grievance Redressal
The hospital is run by a team of dedicated and competent doctors and specialists who are committed to providing the best medical care with all resources at their disposal. They are supervised by senior professors in respective fields to ensure optimal patient management. However, in the event of any shortcoming in the services provided, the patients or their relatives may represent to the Grievance Redressal Committee of the hospital which comprises the following members.
- The Dean.
- The Medical Superintendent.
- The Vice Principal.
- The Resident Medical Officer
Out-Patient Services
The hospital runs outpatient services from 7.30 am to 12 noon on all days including Sundays and government holidays. They are provided by the following departments,
Medicine and Allied Specialties (General Medicine, TB & Chest Medicine, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Neurology)
Surgery and Allied Specialities (General Surgery, Orthopaedics, E.N.T, Ophthalmology, Neurosurgery)

Ambulance Services
The 108 Ambulance Service is yet another public-friendly scheme by the government. The ambulance service is available 24 x 7, accessible to everyone and is prompt in responding to emergency situations. They bring patients to the hospital casualty as well as transport patients to higher centers if needed.

Education and Training
Academics
The college is equipped with highly modernised infrastructure and surplus faculty members to train and guide the medical students as per the norms of the Medical Council of India and the TN Dr MGR Medical University to which it is affiliated.
The college offers to the medical students a structured training program including didactic lectures, group discussions, problem-based learning skills, demonstrations, hands-on sessions, seminars, symposiums, integrated teaching methods, etc.
The college conducts a Medical Education Unit as per the norms of the Medical Council of India. The Medical Education Unit is constituted by expert faculty who are certified medical educationists and who are aware of latest technology and teaching methods in medical field. It aims to impart teaching skills into medical students so as to enable them become future teachers in medical field.
The assessment methods in place are designed to test various domains of medical students such as knowledge, attitude, skills, etc. They include objective type exam, theory type exam, OSPE/OSCE assessment, practical exam and viva/voce assessments.
Library
The college has a library that is stocked with latest edition of various standard text books and reference books of all specialties. The working hour is from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm on all days except on second Saturdays and government holidays where it is from 8.00 am – 2.30 pm and on Sundays where it is leave.
Anti-Ragging Committee
The Anti-Ragging committee consists of the Dean, Medical Superintendent, Vice Principal, Resident Medical Officer, Professors and Assistant Professors to ensure a ragging-free environment in the college and hostel premises all over the year.
The college makes every effort to ensure that medical students are given high-quality medical training as per the norms of the Medical Council of India and are fully supported in all aspects during the period of training. However, in the event of any shortcoming, the students or their parents may approach the Grievances Redressal Committee of the college that comprises the following members,

Hostel Accommodation
Hostel accommodation is provided to all male and female students who require the facility. The hostel runs a dining mess that provides clean, high-quality and nutritious food to the inmates.
